The Power of Persistence - Lessons from the Beaver

Beavers cut through Trees by chirping continuously - This is called the power of PERSISTENCE

Persistence is defined as the quality that allows someone to continue doing something or trying to do something even though its difficult or opposed by other people. Persistence also means refusing to give up or let go.

You see, success depends on your willingness to never give up, even when the reward is delayed. When we start an endeavor, be it business related or a personal one, we have certain expectations, but plans don’t always go as ‘Planned’, however, strength and persistence gets us across in times like these.

As small as a Beaver is, it can fell a tree as big as 40cm in diameter, because, it keeps chirping and chirping, without giving up, in fact it never occurs to it to give up, it just keeps dancing around the tree, goes away, then comes back to it, until the tree falls down, Imagine, a small beaver with a big tree, that is the power of Persistence.

We can also draw inspiration from a small child who is learning to walk, he never gives up, he keeps pulling himself up, everytime he falls, and then he tries again, never minding the bruises and bumps, he just continues until he perfects the skill.

People would always show their successes as the result of hardwork, but would hardly take us through the journey and rigours experienced before the success was achieved, we can compare this to when a woman delivers a baby, many people would see the baby and congratulate her on her bundle of joy, except for those close to her, most people would never get to know what she went through to bring the child to the world.

So, to achieve anything great in this world, we must develop the skill of Persistence, just keep trying for as many times as possible, and Nature would surely reward your hardwork and persistence.
